Caregiving

We understand the need to seek out the right caring options, so that your loved one can be in the best hands possible.

The Bermuda Health Council is the overseeing body for all caregivers in Bermuda (informal and formal). Anyone who is offering services as a caregiver must be registered with them. For a complete list of registered caregivers, you can click here, call 292-6420, or email contactus@healthcouncil.bm. You may also utilize their new search tool (https://helpinghub.bm/en) for social services across the island.

Just so you know, there are different kinds of caregivers. The 3 main types of caregivers are:

· Personal caregiver or family caregiver

· Skilled Caregiver

· Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN)

Click here to find out the differences between each caregiver type. You can also use this general needs assessment and checklist from AARP to help you understand more about your priorities and needs when looking for a caregiver.
